U.S. Life Insurance Activity Rallies in June Reports the MIB Life Index

The MIB reports that U.S. life insurance application activity was 3.3% higher in June 2019 compared to last June. The sales shift remains away from younger age buyers, with the composite showing strong growth coming from older age life insurance applicants. In June, application activity for:

  1. Ages 0-44 fell -1.3%

  2. Ages 45-59 grew +4.1%

  3. Ages 60+ grew +15.6%

For the year, the MIB Life Index is up 0.2% compared to the same period for 2018.
